Terms of service

Version 2026-09-03. Last updated September 3, 2026.

Short version: Wakewire is a free morning brief assembled by software from other people's publicly available reporting. It is general information, it can be wrong, and it is not advice. Use it as a starting point and read the linked source before you act.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and Solarpunk Horizons Inc., the operator of Wakewire (referred to here as "we" and "us"). Our postal address is 429 McWilliams Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316, United States, and our contact address is hello@wakewire.ai. Creating an account, or using the site, means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account and do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Wakewire with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children below the minimum age, and we delete accounts we learn belong to them.

3. Your account

You give us a working email address and choose a password. You are responsible for keeping that password private and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. We may suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms, to abuse the service, or to harm other people.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings page. Deletion removes your profile, your topic preferences, your reading history, and your login record including the email address and password hash held in our authentication system. The privacy notice explains what is retained afterwards and for how long.

4. Editorial and AI disclaimer

Briefs are produced with substantial help from automated systems, including large language models. Those systems summarize, quote, and characterize reporting written by other publishers. They can misread a source, omit context, or attribute a claim imprecisely.

We verify quotes against the source text where the source can be read, and we publish a correction log at /corrections. Verification reduces error. It does not eliminate it.

Nothing in a brief, a chapter, a summary, an analysis note, or a learning card is financial, investment, legal, medical, tax, employment, or other professional advice. It is general information only. Decisions are yours, and you should confirm anything that matters against the original source or a qualified professional.

5. Third-party sources and links

Wakewire reads publicly available feeds and links back to the original publisher. Headlines, excerpts, and quotations remain the property of their publishers and are used for the purpose of reporting on and pointing to their work. We do not control those sites, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content, their paywalls, or their availability. Opinions expressed in quoted material belong to whoever said them.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, resell, or republish briefs in bulk without written permission
  • use the service to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure
  • present machine-assisted output as independently verified reporting of your own

Personal use, and sharing an individual brief with a colleague or a friend, is welcome.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an as-is, as-available basis while it is young. A brief may be late, a feature may change, and a source may drop out. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms.

Every change gets a new version number and date at the top of this page. For a change that materially affects your rights or how we handle your data, we email the address on your account at least seven days before it takes effect, and we ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Where renewed acceptance is not required, continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance. If you do not accept a new version, you can delete your account from your settings page.

8. No warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, Wakewire is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that summaries will be free of error, or that a source will remain reachable.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, or reliance losses, arising from your use of the service or from any decision you make based on a brief. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty five US dollars. The service is currently free, so for a free account that cap is twenty five US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us because of how you used the service in breach of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, a takedown request, or a correction, write to hello@wakewire.ai, or by post to Solarpunk Horizons Inc., 429 McWilliams Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316, United States.
