Rights and right of reply

Wakewire publishes its own analysis of publicly distributed podcasts and feeds, short quotations credited to the source with a link to it, and sponsor names as they were stated on the recording. We do not publish transcripts.

If you publish a show or hold rights in material we cover, you can ask us to stop covering a show, remove everything we have published about it, remove a specific excerpt, correct a read, or publish your reply beneath it. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to answer in substance within five. Weekends and US federal holidays do not count.

What removal can and cannot do. New visitors see the cleared pages within five minutes. A page someone already has open stays as it is until they reload it. Emails that already went out cannot be recalled. For a request to remove everything, we ask Google and Bing to drop the pages, but we cannot control copies other sites keep. Removed content is hidden right away, kept for 12 months in case of dispute, then deleted. Our corrections log keeps a record that the removal happened, and the details you send us are kept for 12 months after your request closes.
